Valensole Photography Workshop
29th June - 03rd July, 2023
Fully Booked
€1,400.00 - €250.00 Deposit
Valensole has always been a place I wanted to visit. I had booked to go in June 2020, however, this was not possible due to COVID 19. Finally I made it in July '22 and what a spectacular location it is.
The lavender fields in Valensole are possibly the most famous not only Provence, but in the world. The area has an array of lavender fields to choose from. In addition there are beautiful wheat and sunflower fields by their sides. This creates the perfect backdrop of stunning colour for an idyllic landscape photography workshop.
The best time to see the lavender in bloom is from the end of June to mid-July. With this in mind the workshop dates are set to coincide with the the fields at there most picturesque peak.
The workshop itinerary is flexible to allow us photograph the best locations at the best times. The priority will be to make the most of the available light and conditions throughout the workshop. Our base is well placed 15 minutes from the Valensole plateau, making all locations easily accessible.
Each day we will visit a multitude of locations beginning with a sunrise shoot. We will then return to our accommodation for breakfast. This will be followed by a rest period as the days are quite long . The hotel has a lovely pool which can be availed of during this time.
Along with capturing the vibrant purples and pinks of the lavender fields in all their glory, we will also be visiting the many atmospheric and picturesque villages that are dotted throughout the region. These provide fantastic photographic opportunities with their quaint shop fronts and quiet alleyways.
Sisteron has a wonderful bridge with a beautiful backdrop and Valensole village itself is a must visit. The high sun will be ideal for light and shadow and you can also explore the local culture. We will dine locally or make our way back to our hotel which is surround by three restarunts before heading out for sunset. There will also be opportunity for shooting Astro given clear skies.
There will be a pre-workshop Zoom session for all participants. This will be an opportunity learn more about what you can expect on the workshop.
A minimum of 4 participants are required for this workshop to go ahead. In the event the minimum is not met and the workshop does not proceed, all payments (deposits & Early Bird) will be refunded. It is not advisable to book flights until you receive confirmation from us of the workshop, as flight costs will not be refunded.
