Fira and Oia

We will visit the towns of Fira and Oia, which cling to cliffs above an underwater crater in the Aegean Sea. These towns overlook small islands to the west and glorious beaches made up of black, white and red lava pebbles; a reminder of Santorini’s volcanic past. We will also visit the picturesque town of Kamari.

Blue Domed Churches

Santorini’s traditional architecture is symbolised by the iconic blue-domed churches featuring white exteriors. The classic image of the island is captured in the striking contrast between the blue domes and the whitewashed buildings.

Beautiful Greek sunsets

Santorini is famous for its stunning sunsets, with the village of Oia standing out as a global favourite for its exceptional sunset vistas. The mesmerising scene unfolds as the white-washed buildings contrast against the vibrant hues of the sky.

Volcanic Origins

Santorini is the result of a volcanic caldera, which was formed by a massive volcanic eruption around 3,600 years ago. The island’s crescent shape is due to the caldera’s collapse. Therefore the landscape is characterised by dramatic cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and volcanic beaches with black or red sand.
