Lewis & Harris Photography Workshop (Nov ‘24)

10th - 16th November, 2024

€2,150.00 - €350.00 Deposit

Join me in November 2024 as I return to the Outer Hebrides for what will be an unforgettable photographic adventure. Off the west coast of Scotland, the Isle of Lewis and Harris is a small picturesque Island located North of Skye in the Outer Hebrides. Despite what the name suggests Lewis and Harris is actually two parts of the one island. Stornoway is its largest town and lies on the east coast.

From the 10th to the 16th of November '24, we will explore the diverse and dramatic landscapes that Lewis and Harris has to offer. We will take in the rugged mountains, stunning white beaches, capture the unique thatched black houses at Gearrannan, all the while surrounded by magnificent clear, turquoise seas!

A photographers paradise, this island and its ever changing landscape has such diversity it has to be experienced to fully appreciate its beauty and fascinating history.

Accommodation for the workshop is at the beautiful Harris Hotel. Six nights, single occupancy on a B&B basis is included in the workshop price. Situated in Tarbert, the hotel is the ideal base for us to access all our workshop locations with ease.

The meeting point for the beginning of the workshop is 4pm on Sun 10th of November at Ullapool Ferry Terminal.

There are a number of options for travel.

If travelling from Ireland, you can travel in our minibus with me. Forget the airport and let us take you on your next adventure! I will be travelling the day before on Sat 9th of November, taking the ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan. We will be travelling Premium with Stena Plus, for the most comfortable experience. The additional fee for this option is €150 per person. Returning by ferry on Sunday 17th of November. (Ferry times to be confirmed closer to the workshop)

Pick up will be available from a number of points from Cork city to Belfast via Dublin:

Saturday 9th of November

Collection times to be conformed closer to the workshop

Collection Cork city (Silver Springs Clayton Hotel)

Collectiuon Dublin (Maldron Hotel at the Red Cow)

Pick up is also available at Lusk and Castlebellingham Apple Green Service stations on route to Belfast.

This option will involve an extra 2 overnight stays (on the way to and from the ferry) we can book these for you and inform you of the cost. We will be staying in the Glasgow area. Cost on this years workshops was between €350-€400 for the additional 2 nights.

One advantage of this option is you can bring that extra bag without having to worry and you can sit back and enjoy the journey! We will arrive back in Ireland on the Sunday the 17th of November, where you will be returned to your pick up point.

Pick up at Inverness airport at 12pm on Sunday 10th of November is also available. You may need to fly in the day before if you wish to avail of this, no later pick up time is available here, as we have to make the drive to Ullapool. There are two reasonably priced hotels directly adjacent to the airport.

The cost of the ferry from mainland Scotland to Lewis & Harris is included in the workshop price.

You can also choose to make the drive to Ullapool yourself and meet us there.

The workshop will end on Friday 15th of November following a sunset shoot. On Saturday the 16th we will depart for the mainland. Drop off is available at Inverness airport, estimated time 12pm on Saturday 16th. This may vary, if the ferry is delayed. It is advisable if you are travelling by air to fly home on the Sunday (17th of November).
