Lewis & Harris - The Outer Hebrides Photography Workshop

05th - 11th November, 2023

Fully Booked

€1,950.00 - €350.00 Deposit

Early Bird Price of €1650 available if booked before February 5th only

Join me this November as I return to the Outer Hebrides for what will be an unforgettable photographic adventure. Off the west coast of Scotland, the Isle of Lewis and Harris is a small picturesque Island located North of Skye in the Outer Hebrides. Despite what the name suggests Lewis and Harris is actually two parts of the one island. Stornoway is its largest town and lies on the east coast.

From the 5th to the 11th of November we will explore the diverse and dramatic landscapes that Lewis and Harris has to offer. We will take in the rugged mountains, stunning white beaches, capture the unique thatched black houses at Gearrannan, all the while surrounded by magnificent clear, turquoise seas!

A photographers paradise, this island and its ever changing landscape has such diversity it has to be experienced to fully appreciate its beauty and fascinating history.

Accommodation for the workshop is at the beautiful Harris Hotel. Six nights, single occupancy on a B&B basis is included in the workshop price. Situated in Tarbert, the hotel is the ideal base for us to access all our workshop locations with ease.

The meeting point for the beginning of the workshop is 4pm on Sun 5th of November at Ullapool Ferry Terminal.

There are a number of options for travel.

If travelling from Ireland, you can travel in our minibus with me. Forget the airport and let us take you on your next adventure! I will be travelling the day before on Sat 4th of November, taking the 2pm ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan. We will be travelling Premium with Stena Plus, for the most comfortable experience. The additional fee for this option is €150 per person. Returning on the 11.30am ferry on Sunday 12th of November, getting in at 1.45pm.

Pick up will be available from a number of points from Cork city to Belfast via Dublin:

Departing Cork city (Silver Springs Clayton Hotel) 7.30am

Departing Dublin (Maldron Hotel at the Red Cow) 10.30am

Pick up is also available at Lusk and Castlebellingham Apple Green Service stations on route to Belfast.

This will involve an extra 2 overnight stays (on the way to and from the ferry) we can book these for you and inform you of the cost. We will be staying in the Glasgow area, hotels are very reasonably priced.

One advantage of this option is you can bring that extra bag without having to worry and you can sit back and enjoy the journey! We will arrive back in Ireland on the Sunday the 12th of November, where you will be returned to your pick up point.

Pick up at Glasgow International airport at 8am on Sunday is also available. You may need to fly in the day before if you wish to avail of this, no later pick up time is available here, as we have to make the drive to Ullapool. There are two reasonably priced hotels directly adjacent to the airport.

You can also choose to make the drive to Ullapool yourself and meet us there.

The workshop will end on Friday the 10th of November following a sunset shoot. On Saturday the 11th we will depart for the mainland. Drop off is available Glasgow International airport, estimated time 9pm on Saturday 11th. This may vary, if the ferry is delayed. It is advisable if you are travelling by air to fly home on the Sunday (12th November).
